The Innovative Concrete Countertop Mix

COUNTER-WEIGHT ™ is a premium quality lightweight concrete countertop mix, Counter Weight allows the installer to use the same product for both Cast in Place and Pre Cast Concrete Countertop applications.

Counter-Weight is recommended for Concrete countertops, pre cast furniture and any concrete application that needs to be light weight. This innovative countertop mix turns once hard countertop applications into a breeze with it’s add water only formula, and minimizes the finishing skills needed for concrete countertops. Counter Weight’s light gray appearance allows the installers to obtain nice hues of colors with Matisse Colors or Acid Stains.

Several form liners are available to help the installer with edge profiles to create beautiful concrete countertops and concrete furniture.

COMPOSITION:

Counter Weight™ is made of cement, lightweight aggregate and additives. This unique combo mix does not have any non structural lightweight aggregate such as vermiculite, perlite and others, it’s entire aggregate part is made with structural grade low density aggregate, this same aggregate is used on walls, columns and high rises, this mix yields a product just as strong and durable as products made with ordinary aggregates and sand.

PACKAGING:
COUNTER WEIGHT is packaged in 80lb. double poly lined bags.

COVERAGE:
Each 80lb. coverage approximately 7 sq. ft of 1 ½ thick concrete countertops.

MIXING:
Put 8 quarts of water in a concrete mixer and add one bag of Counter Weight, mix thoroughly for 3 to 4 minutes and check the mix consistency, add more water if needed but do not exceed 8 quarts per bag, do not over water. Concrete mixture should be the consistency of thick oatmeal with a clay like appearance. To integrally color the mix add 1 bottle of Matisse Colors for countertops.

NOTE: Lightweight aggregate is a very porous material, even though the consistency of the mix may be right initially, the aggregate will continue to absorb water for some time, it is very important to mix for at least 5 minutes and to add more water when needed. If the mixture gets hard, it is not due to early setting, simply not enough water in the mix, if this occurs, add a little more water and continue to mix until the concrete is back to a clay like appearance.
